Pete has more than four decades of experience across finance, consulting, manufacturing and business improvement in the UK, Europe and Asia, including 17 years working in Vietnam.
His senior roles have included CFO, Finance Director, Head of Risk & Internal Audit and Consulting Director, working with boards, owners and management teams across a wide range of operating environments.
His work extends beyond finance into process improvement, manufacturing, supply chain, governance and organisational performance.
At Apate Intelligence, Pete combines that practical management experience with AI-enabled analysis to examine large volumes of business evidence, identify patterns and underlying causes, and help management determine what the evidence means and what should be done about it.

David has more than four decades of experience across manufacturing, retail and consumer businesses in Australia and Asia.
His senior roles have included CEO, Acting CEO, Deputy Chairman, senior operational leadership and advisory positions, with responsibility spanning supply chain and operations, business transformation, organisational development and governance.
David's involvement in Vietnam began in 2008 and has included long-term board and advisory roles with a major Vietnamese family-owned business, alongside executive responsibility for manufacturing, sales, marketing and distribution.
At Apate Intelligence, he combines that operating, executive and governance experience with AI-enabled analysis to understand how businesses actually work, identify the causes of performance problems and turn complex information into practical management action.

Specialist Associates
Apate works with experienced specialists who join assignments where their particular expertise is required. They are selected for practical operating experience rather than just technical knowledge, allowing us to extend an assignment into specialist areas without building a large permanent consulting structure
Dat Hoang

Dat is a senior operational and technology executive with approximately 40 years of experience across Australia and Asia-Pacific, including senior leadership roles in Vietnam. He has served as Vietnam Country Head, Chief Operating Officer and regional operations leader with responsibility for P&L performance, organisational growth, transformation and service delivery.
Dat’s strength is turning strategy into practical execution by aligning peple, processes, systems and governance. In Vietnam he has built and scaled substantial operating teams and led improvement programmes delivering significant gains in efficiency, productivity and cost performance. Bilingual in English and Vietnamese, Dat brings operational depth and strong understanding of the Vietnamese business environment
John Cole
Transport | Distribution | Logistics Networks | 3PL
John has more than 40 years of experience in transport, logistics and supply chain management, combining senior industry experience with approximately 15 years in consulting. His work has covered domestic and international freight, road, rail and sea transport, distribution operations and third-party logistics.
He has advised manufacturing, mining, resources, retail and distribution businesses on logistics strategy, network design, fleet and route optimisation, transport tendering, 3PL selection and management, and operational and cost modelling. John brings a strongly practical perspective, focusing on how transport networks actually operate, where cost and service problems originate and how suppliers, networks and management processes can be improved.
Jason Garbutt
International Freight | Shipping | Customs | Cross-Border Logistics
Jason has more than 30 years of experience in logistics and supply chain operations across the UK, Europe and Vietnam, with particular expertise in international freight, shipping and cross-border logistics.
His experience includes ocean, air and road freight, warehousing and distribution, customs and trade compliance, carrier and 3PL management and operational improvement. Before moving to Vietnam, Jason spent more than 20 years in UK and European freight and logistics operations and has subsequently worked across international freight, logistics operations and commercial management in Vietnam. He brings a practical operator’s understanding of how goods move across borders and where cost, service and compliance problems arise.
